Textile Printers

Textile printers are printers that are specifically designed to print on fabric. They work by applying ink directly to the fabric or by transferring an image onto the fabric. Textile printers are used to create custom garments, promotional items, and other fabric–based products. Sublimation printers are used to print images and designs onto fabric using a heat transfer process. Sublimation printers work by printing the design onto specially coated transfer paper, which is then heat–pressed onto the fabric. The heat causes the ink to vaporize and then sublimate onto the fabric, creating a permanent image. Direct to textile printers work by printing directly onto the fabric with a special type of ink. Direct to textile printing is ideal for producing large runs of custom fabric designs, such as for flags, banners, and other promotional items. The ink is usually pigment–based, which means it is water–resistant and won’t fade over time.
